Pickled Ginger

Pickled ginger is called gari in Japanese. It is generally preferred with sushi or other sea foods.Ginger helps in better digestions and also cleans your taste buds.

Ingredients: Peeled ginger, rice vinegar, salt , sugar.

Methods: Take gingers and properly wash the nodes.Peel the ginger cover and make thin slices out of it. Now transfer ginger slices into a bowl.Sprinkle salt over it and let it sit for like half an hour. Transfer the content into a jar.

In another pan,stir rice vinegar , sugar and together it dissolves properly.Bring it to a boil.

Now add this mixture in the ginger jar. Fill it completely. Let the jar cool down. Put it in refrigerator for at least one week. The ginger slices will start changing color after sometime and will look more pinkish.But that isn’t something which one be worried about as the color changes because of the reaction happening between vinegar and other substances.Ready to be served after one week.
